Tradition and innovation are the basis of the IMEPA project, the historic company of the Esposito family, which has been able to transform itself from a producer of fresh peppers to a specialist in dried products. The ability to recognize the best raw materials, essential for a finished product with a natural taste, comes from farming origins, from the agricultural knowledge that the founder Enrico handed down to his children, to allow him to select and transform only the best that nature offers.
The third generation of Esposito is now at the helm of an industrial reality that, with cutting-edge technologies, produces dried ingredients of plant origin, but also mixes and creams, marketing them with three brands dedicated to different channels and types of customers. The goodness of the dried product also corresponds to that of the company policy: the investments in innovation, which led to the construction of the production plant in Nocera Inferiore, have focused on food safety and hygiene, but also on the safety of all employees and on the systematic control of the entire supply chain.
MEPA, in addition to compliance with current environmental legislation (Legislative Decree 152/2006), applies various solutions to protect the environment. It was among the first companies in Campania to choose an ethical approach. For over 10 years it has preferred alternative energy sources to power the entire production process: clean solar energy, transformed by the company’s industrial activities, thanks to the use of a photovoltaic system. It carries out a rigorous separate collection and for waste disposal it avails itself of the collaboration of important accredited companies. In 2018, it recovered 2,000 kg of plastic and over 9,000 kg of paper, thanks to internal operating instructions, both in the offices and in the production areas and in the presence of an internal collaborator who deals exclusively with environmental issues. For rainwater and process waters, it has created an innovative natural recycling method, phytodepuration: a natural wastewater purification system that reproduces the self-purification principle typical of aquatic environments and wetlands.
